Niners' draftees Justin Smiley and Rashaun Woods

It is brutally obvious the NFL dominates the sporting world in America.  Like most Americans, football is my favorite sport.  Just ask around I'm sure you'll hear how boring baseball is in about 10 seconds.  And the NBA has become a joke. Since Jordan retired the second time, television ratings are horrible.  However, the NFL is as strong as ever.  This past weekend the NFL held its annual draft and most agree the Lions came out as big winners by drafting both Roy Williams and Kevin Jones.  Others point to the Bengals as having a great draft day, mostly due to quantity.  They came away with a whopping eleven guys including 5 on the first day. Personally, I was happy with the Niners' draft.  They did a good job of filling their needs by having many picks.  Thats important, especially when you consider half the guys are flops or get hurt and never play.  We won't know who had a good draft for about 3 more years, but it's still fun to think about.

Actually, I like other sports too.  I have been becoming a bigger baseball fan in recent years.  As the baseball season gets going, I can't help but watch as those Damn Yankees buy out Major League Baseball.  I think baseball should have a salary cap like the one in the NFL to promote parity.  I'm a Dodgers fan, so I go through good pitching and bad hitting on yearly basis.  Last year, they ranked 1st and last respectively.

I used to be a basketball freak.  Until only a few years ago, basketball was my favorite sport.  I am a Bulls fan, which is hard to be and even harder to admit.  So I think I deserve some credit for my loyalty.  They have made so many bad decisions in recent years it is pathetic.  They had Elton Brand, Brad Miller, and Ron Artest, but decided against being a good team.  Well, honestly I don't like Artest anyway.  The Elton Brand trade looked dumb when it was made and has only made the team look worse as time has passed.  Why trade a proven, but still young all-star caliber power forward to draft an unproven player out of high school?
