Lafayette Near North Neighborhood Charrette

For three days in April, neighborhood residents, elected officials and staff participated in a community visioning exercise. The event focused on several neighborhoods immediately north of downtown Lafayette. During the charrette, Ball State University design students generated graphic expressions of community ideas after brainstorming and talking with area residents and leaders. This website has been created to display the ideas and drawings from the charrette process.

Lafayette North Ninth Street Corridor
This homepage is a collection of work being completed by students from the Department of Urban Planning in the College of Architecture and Planning at Ball State University.  These second year students are researching, synthesizing and developing information and  ideas as part of their academic requirements for PLAN 202, a studio course exploring
land development and design criteria.

The class involves working with staff members of the Lafayette Urban Enterprise Association  (LUEA) in Lafayette, Indiana. A primary objective of the class project is to develop ideas for  redevelopment for an area recently added to the Urban Enterprise Zone.
