University Core Curriculum
All general education requirements are met in the teaching major for elementary education and early childhood education, the all-grade major in special education, and the all-grade major in hearing impaired.

Concentration Areas
For elementary education and early childhood education, the teaching major requirements are given in the statement of the Department of Elementary Education, and licensing coverage is given in the Teacher Licensing section.

For senior high, junior high, and middle school teaching, a teaching major or a teaching major in combination with a teaching minor, a departmental minor (does not lead to certification), or another teaching major is required. (Area requirements are given in the statements of the departments of instruction, and licensing coverage is given in the Teacher Licensing section.)

For all-grade education, an all-grade teaching major is required. (Area requirements are given in the statements of the departments of instruction, and licensing coverage is given in the Teacher Licensing section.)

In order to pursue teaching minors students must have a teaching major; nonteaching majors are not eligible to pursue a teaching minor or endorsement.

Electives
Students must take as many hours of credit in electives as needed to increase the total to 126.
