Program Resources
Ball State University students have access to the most powerful tools for learning available. They study in small classes with talented, dedicated faculty. They use advanced educational technology in the classroom, computer labs, and even their residence hall rooms.

Most importantly, the university provides a solid foundation for every student’s personal learning. More than 140 academic programs are offered in seven colleges, including several interdisciplinary options.

The Center for Actuarial Science, Insurance, and Risk Management is an example of how Ball State creates educational experiences designed around the needs of its students. The Department of Mathematical Sciences, College of Sciences and Humanities, and Department of Finance, College of Business, built this program around the skills needed by graduates to excel in the actuarial science and insurance professions.

Ball State is one of only a few schools to offer both actuarial science and insurance programs, and our graduates have had impressive achievements. More than 300 members of the Society of Actuaries (that's almost two percent of the nation's members) are Ball State alumni. Insurance students are consistently selected as Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program award winners to attend the annual convention of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, a high honor for the students and Ball State. Graduates of both programs are employed by insurance companies, financial services organizations, and consulting firms nationwide and abroad. With the partnership of the two programs, our graduates leave Ball State with knowledge of the profession and a strong belief in the power of personal learning.
