Indy Gateways was launched in 2004 as a partnership between
the City of Indianapolis and the Rotary Club of Indianapolis
as a way to showcase the city's gateways at major points of
entry to the city, its neighborhoods and key destinations.
A Gateways Workgroup was established and charged with
identifying potential gateway locations as well as
developing a toolbox to provide a guide for the development
of gateways in Indianapolis. This workgroup identified
fifteen priority sites, presented back to the community
along with the report and toolbox in July of 2005.
