2006 Collegiate Nationals

Collegiate nationals were held in sunny Miami, Florida this year. Even though the group was small, only 3 lifters, everyone came ready for battle.

On Friday night, after everyone got all assembled, everyone discussed the crazy ass super shuttle drivers from the airport. They consisted of crazy dirka dirka Muhammad gee hadds , and had no business driving anyone around town.

Saturday the atmosphere was relaxed, we swam around the pool, and just made fun of old guys in Speedos, and watched Mikey pop wood from all the chicks in thongs and g-strings. Pat and Aaron tried to sit by the pool but with there white supremacy skin, the Miami sun was too much for them.

Saturday night the 198’s started lifting, and Mikey was on deck, during warm-ups mike was about as a stable as a house built by pueblo Indians. But Mikey came through on squats, bench, and almost fell off the stage after his last pull.

On Sunday, it was Aaron in the 220’s and Pat in 242’s. Sunday morning Aaron weighed in and began to pig out at the River walk buffet. Warm-ups looked good, and he got a new PR on squats. Bench was a different story, those tree trunks as arms just couldn’t handle all 370lbs of weight, nice job. On Deadlift we tried for a gusto PR of 560, but judging was strict and they declined him.

Sunday after noon it was Pat’s turn to tear up the field. We were all praying that the good pat came to lift that day. During warm-ups everything felt good, but on the platform, it just wasn’t in the cards. The squat held him back, and he couldn’t get any fire out of the hole, With some more experience in the suit, Pat will come back next to dominate.

Overall it was a good trip, and everyone performed 100%. With some hard training, everyone will be back next year.
