APF Senior Nationals

The day started out promising, with lots of aggression and a good mindset. Warmups felt very stable and strong up to 600, where the nagging back muscle pain started to rear its ugly head. 837 was the opening squat but was harder than expected due to the back pain. 877 was the next attempt instead of 912 due to the back, but was a no go, and also passed on a third in hopes of saving the back for the DL. The bench was good with a PR of 606 in a single ply. After the bench, the back went into a state of rest and stretching in hopes of getting it to feel good enough for a nasty pull, but it was not in the cards. The meet site was not as good a expected, with very extreme temperatures, and hardly any room to sit, warmup, or relax. The other horrible part is that the big dogs didnt start lifting until 3pm and went until 11pm.

The next meet will be in Iowa for hopes of big numbers and bragging rights, but for now rehab and recovery will be the key. Thanks to all who showed up to help, and gave up their weekend to help a friend. Thanks to Westside for being there to help me stretch, warmup, and stay behind me. Thanks to Alva for forgetting my socks and also a drive home hog leg AHAHA, thanks to big mike, and ware dog for driving and helping out.
