Hello to all who have indicated interest in German Club. I want to announce to you an opportunity to participate in one of the club's initiatives, and to win a prize in the process. We will be having German Club t-shirts made to sell by late November or early December, and those who have paid their membership dues will be able to buy them at a discounted price. In the meantime, however, we need a logo and a slogan. Thus, we're asking all interested parties to enter shirt designs in a contest. The winning design, which will be chosen by a vote of all present at Kulturabend, will earn its designer a free shirt for his/her efforts. Here are the rules:
--Entries must be submitted on an 8.5" X 11"
piece of paper.
--Entries must be positive and inoffensive
(but may certainly be humorous)
--Designs should include Ball State's name
as well as the club's name. Our official name is Delta Alpha Gamma (for
Deutsche Amerikanische Gesellschaft), so you can use that as you will,
and should probably include the fact that it is a German Club (which may
not be evident to some from the name).
--Entries must be submitted by no later than
5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 15. Turn them in to the German Club mailbox
in NQ 138.
Be as creative as you want! Have fun!
Well, before I end this message, I also want to remind you that Alpha Mu Gamma is selling Harvest Fest t-shirts for $12.00. Their president (who is our secretary), Kinsey Swartz, has developed a way to branch out to the individual language clubs by setting up this fundraiser so as to support them as well as Alpha Mu Gamma. If you order a Harvest Fest t-shirt and mention that you want to support German Club, we will receive most of the profits from the shirt you buy. They can be pre-ordered (payment needed with order) in NQ 138 (in the office), and they will be available to be picked up at Harvest Fest (on Monday, October 30). If you want to pre-order a shirt, you must do so by no later than Tuesday, October 17th! Some shirts will be available for purchase at Harvest Fest, but not many, so pre-ordering is the way to go. Thanks to all who support German Club in this manner.
Just to let you all know, I've had some difficulty
getting our new e-mail address to function properly. I will keep trying,
but in the meantime, I will use this address, and you may inquire or comment
about German Club here. The other account, however, is able to receive
e-mai; I only have problems when I try to send messages out to our group.
I'll keep you updated.
Well, have a nice day!
Mit freundlichen Gruessen,
Chris Stroop, Praesident des Deutschklubs
