Building for Birds Campaign construction • feature story about WRH • how you can help The Wildlife Resqu Haus has added a new building!
The new building, which has made Diana's job of caring for 400-600 animals each year much more effective, began admitting new patients early in the spring of 2004. To help fund the new building, the Robert Cooper Audubon Society launched the Building for Birds campaign in the of fall 2003, to raise $17,000 toward the total expected price tag of $22,000. (The actual cost ended up being just over $25,000.) A grant from the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County covered the initial $5,000. To date, Building for Birds has brought in approximately $9,000, thanks to the generosity of dozens of supporters across east central Indiana. The remaining $11,000, however, has been paid out of Diana's own pockets – money that, otherwise, could go directly to animal care and feeding. If you'd like to help us erase the remaining debt, please read "How you can help." You may also contact Diana directly at 765-759-9112 or at yorktownbirdlady@aol.com.
