What is Technology?

Technology is a primary source in many schools. Often, many people tend to think technology is solely based on the study of computers but it relates to the study of industry. It helps give students a creative learning environment to produce materials to help his/her way of learning of how technology affects the environment .
Technology helps broaden the students awareness on occupational opportunities in society. Also, It provides many experiences which students will need to function on a daily basis in the real world.

Technology is a way life, and it is the means of how our children learn and survive in adjusting and adapting in their own environment.

Throughout my school life, I have been fortunate to have technology in my life. My mother is a high school teacher in business, and she basically taught me everything about computers at an early age. My father is high school industrial arts teacher, so again he taught me the industry of technology at early age as well. I had many opportunities in school, I began to take many computer courses. In junior high, I can remember being in a computer club where we learn many interesting things about computers and made various experiences from the computer. I also took a class in junior high class that related to my Cs 112 (college Level course) in which we program functions to make simulations on the computer.

I have so many experiences that my artifacts will show you. I have ample opportunities to help students with technology. My experiences go all across the curriculum in a variety of ways. I feel students can advance their learning from my experiences more because I have had so many hands-on learning from technology education, that students will be very excited to learn about technology in my classroom.

I have always had a problem with assessing students learning. It is very hard for me because students are always learning and constructing new ideas and experiences. So how can you evaluate children since their learning is an ongoing process.

In my early school years before college I really did not have the essential skils and practice to work with technology. I was still learning and discovering to see how things work. But when I came to college, I started taking many classes that help me understand that teaching technology is just not sitting children at computer for free time. I have gain the knowledege of knowing how to be succesful in having a lesson that can integrate technology into the curriculm.

I really did not know much about this standard until my college education . I believe my Cs 102 (lecture class) taught me about many issues and problems which can arise in the classroom or within the school system relating to all these matters. Without that class I would not know how to socially or legally deal with the school environment based on technology education. As a pre-service teacher I can professionally approach any one these issues in a positive manner. Also, I had the opportunity of taking a foundation course relating to the philosophy of education. I had the pleasure of taking multicultural classes relating to education, which have shown me that many human issues which will arise in technology education.
