Experiment: Testing the strength of a small model airplane’s airfoil

Building the airfoil:
Cut two 5" x 2" pieces of balsa into airfoil shapes with 1/8" square notches cut into the top, bottom, front and back.

Join the two airfoil-shaped pieces to two 10" x 1/8" balsa sticks by gluing the sticks into the notches. These sticks are called spars.
