I believe this company's financial situation is stable and doing very well. The annual income dropped a little from 2002, but is still higher than in 2001.

History:
It all started when founder and chairman, Jeff Smulyan bought WSVL, a small FM station out of Shelbyville, Indiana. Smulyan turned this station into WENS and it is now a strong competitor in Indianapolis radio.  Smulyan then created the first 24 hour all sports radio station, New York City's WFAN. Emmis became the first company to have stations in LA and in New York be rated number one simultaneously. Emmis went on to own several stations in radio and television, as well as several magazines.
