![]() The Verizon Corporation's plans: The Verizon Corporation has introduced a wireless broadband in two major metro areas. On October 1, 2003, customers in Washington D.C. and San Diego were able to subscribe to BroadbandAccess, a wireless broadband service from Verizon. BroadbandAccess service is available for $79.99 a month, with a $149.99 PC 5220 card needed to get the signal. Think that's expensive? That's after the rebates! Also rather new to the wireless consumers is picture messaging. You just snap a picture with your camera phone, enter a Verizon Wireless phone number or any e-mail address, type a TXT message, add a sound and hit send to send a picture message. Verizon isn't the only company with this technology, Sprint, Guardian Unlimited, and AT&T have also entered this market. |
