The Tribune Company is a very strong
company with diversified products and services which will be in demand for
many years to come. Most of the company's income comes from it's
publishing company which is anchored by the Chicago Tribune and Los
Angeles Times, two very respected daily newspapers. The broadcasting
division is anchored by WGN, a widely watched cable channel and a popular
local station. The broadcasting division of Tribune also has a 22%
stake in the WB network which is a fast growing national network with very
popular shows. The stock price took a dip late 2001 when
the whole market suffered but has completely recovered and has been very
strong since then and has been increasing steadily.
