 MY Assessment

Sony is a stable company.  Sony is so diverse and has such a widespread product field that it would be hard for sony to fall out.  Sony continues to remain one of the top electronic companies with new innovations and products keeping them safe from any large instabilities in the market.

History

Sony began in 1945 under Masaru Ibuka in the war damaged city of Tokyo.  The company started in a small building.  The few employees there repaired radios and the employees would brainstorm new ideas and tools people would use.  The first new invention to come from the company, then known as Tokyo Tsushin Kenkyujo or Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute, was a rice cooker.history  From there, over the next several years, the company continued to grow.  They made such things as electrically heated cushions and radios.  The company  finally become Sony in January of 1958.  By then, Sony had diversified to make many different electronics such as radios, tvs, and voice recorders.  Since then, Sony has grown exponentially diversifying into nearly every aspect of telecommunications industry.
