In class we read an editorial column by Michelle Malkin titled: Hollywood's Favorite Child Molester. She tells of the sex offences that Salva had with a boy that was 7 and continued until the age of 12!! That boy was the star of Slava's first movie Clownhouse. When police raided Salva's house they found video tapes of the Salva rapping the boy and the boy performing oral sex on Salva. There were also tapes of other young men taking showers and a pornographic picture album also featuring young boys. Salva pleaded guilty of the 5 felony counts of child sex abuse, but only served 15 months out of a 3 year sentence. Three years to me wasn't even enough...he should be walking on death row for something like that, but look at Koby and O.J.; money talks. Anyway, that was 1988, and now in 2003 Jeepers Creepers 2 has been released. Here again, Salva works with young male actors. In this movie, the camera lingers on the lower torsos of the male actors while they are sunbathing in a cornfield. Seriously, how many boys tan outside, especially in a cornfield. This is legal "sexual" exploitation, and Salva's new, legal way of getting off. What did other famous Hollywood actors and directors say, "....he has paid his debt to society and should be left alone to express himself creatively..." and "The film did very well in the box office--that's all that matters to us."

Who cares if he still works with young boys, or if 15 months in prison changed his sexual orientation (probably not since he is in prison with other men). Who cares if he is still doing this, as long as he brings in the money. Who Cares? I care, and the parents of the actors should care. I believe that parents should be informed of this information before their child tries out for the part. They should know that this man is sick and could spread this "infection" to their little boys; based on that, the parents should say, "Hell, no, you aren't trying out for this role!" If more people would know this information, maybe this man wouldn't still be in the industry. I viewed Jeepers Creepers before I knew this information; now that I know, I wont support him by renting Jeepers Creepers 2. Second chances are for people that want to change their lives. Victor Salva is falling into the same pattern as before, and as Sgt. Gary Primavera, the officer who handled the boy's case, said, "Victo has every characteristic of a pedophile that I know of--and I've worked with enough of them. There was no remorse. The only sadness on Victor's prey was that he got caught." Sounds to me like he is reformed, not likely. This time he will be more careful to pick out his prey so he doesn't get caught!
