                                                   From the Syllabus.......

Evolutionary theory is the most universally important
body of theory within the biological sciences.  It
contains the only principles that effectively unify

Meet the Professor       all processes and concepts within biology.  Knowledge

Meet the Author           of the fundamentals of evolutionary theory is critical

Biology Department      for all biologists, no matter what subdiscipline they
practice.  Constantly being tested and extended,
evolutionary biology is an especially dynamic science
that is refreshed by exciting, conceptual debates.  The
fundamental tenets of evolution remain as the relatively
simple but powerful ideas that were put forth almost a
century and a half ago.  But the expansion and increasing
complexity of evolutionary theory provides almost
limitless directions of exploration for interested students
                                                     of science.

            Meet the Author

Cheryl Fisher is a graduate student at Ball State University pursuing a M. S.
            degree in Wildlife Management.

Her thesis research pertains to avian diversity and density in relation to
vegetation structure in restored versus natural wetlands.

She is an instructor for the Introduction Biology course for non-majors.

As an undergraduate at Ball State she was president of the campus
Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society.  During her tenure she
coordinated the release of six peregrine falcons into downtown Muncie,
Indiana.  For their accomplishment, the group received the John & Ester
Cooper Conservation Award from the East Central Indiana Audubon Society.
