Department for all biologists, no matter what subdiscipline they
practice. Constantly being tested and extended,
evolutionary biology is an especially dynamic science
that is refreshed by exciting, conceptual debates. The
fundamental tenets of evolution remain as the relatively
simple but powerful ideas that were put forth almost a
century and a half ago. But the expansion and
increasing
complexity of evolutionary theory provides almost
limitless directions of exploration for interested students
of science.

Cheryl Fisher is a graduate student at Ball State University
pursuing a M. S.
degree in Wildlife Management.
Her thesis research pertains to avian diversity and density
in relation to
vegetation structure in restored versus natural wetlands.
She is an instructor for the Introduction Biology course for
non-majors.
As an undergraduate at Ball State she was president of the
campus
Student Chapter of The
Wildlife Society. During her tenure she
coordinated the
release of six peregrine falcons into downtown Muncie,
Indiana. For their accomplishment, the group received
the John & Ester
Cooper Conservation Award from the East Central Indiana
Audubon Society.
