Patagopteryx

                 Patagopteryx deferrariisi fossils have been
found in Patagonia located in Late Cretaceous
sediments.  It has been described as having a
robust body with small wings and referred to as
a chicken-size flightless bird with a body length
of approximately 2.5 ft. (Feduccia 1996, Alvarenga
                and Bonaparte 1992).

Patagopteryx is considered an intermediate form
between dinosaurs and modern day birds.
