This contest was inspired by Charter Member Torqueman, lover of roadside monstrosities.

The purpose of this contest is to encourage members of the Motorcycle Tourer's Forum to ride, discover, and share.

Have you ever been riding and discovered a roadside monstrosity such as this giant submarine rising from the earth. Did you enjoy what you saw? If you did, this contest is for you.

Entry Fee: None

Prizes: The first place winner will receive a $40.00 gift certificate toward MTF Merchandise . The second place winner will receive a $20.00 gift certificate toward MTF Merchandise. All other participants will receive the enjoyment of the ride and the hunt.

Scoring:

You receive points by posting in the Roadside Monstrosities Thread under the Must Do Sites and Highways Folder on the Motorcycle Tourer's Forum during the dates of the contest. Be sure to follow the example below in order to claim your points. All claimed points must be validated by the judges: Torqueman, Jules, and Alan (Tbirder). Judges decisions are final.

• Receive 1 point for every roadsideamerica.com site visited. Picture required and location required.
      

• The Great Rat Run Receive 1 point for every Rat Site visited. Picture required.
      

• New Site: 

  • Receive 5 points for being the first to post a site that is not on either roadsideamerica.com or The Great Rat Run site. Note: The judges must validate the site as a roadside monstrosity and you must provide directions for others to find the site.

  • Receive 10 points if you convince either roadsideamerica.com or The Great Rat Run to post your site on their website and they mention the Motorcycle Tourers Forum in the write up.

  • Receive 2 points for visiting a new site posted in the MTF Thread.
          

• Picture Bonus:

  • Receive 1 bonus point per site if you are in the picture.*

  • Receive 2 bonus points per site if you and your motorcycle are in the picture.*

       

• State Bonus: Receive 5 points for each state in which you have visited a roadside monstrosity.
     

This contest is being run on the honor system. You could submit a picture that you modified in a paint program or cheat in some other way. Please don't embarrass yourself.
