We were planning to use them as a staging area for West to East Riders. However, given the number of participants we elected to stage directly at the Chevron. However they have agreed to serve as our witness. Their hours are below. You will need two signatures.

You are to contact Alan Leduc at the emergency number provided to you by email in the event that you are not available to finish the ride. You are also to call Alan Leduc at the conclusion of your ride.
We encourage you to keep with the spirit of the
ride coast to coast ride and obtain your sand and water as part of the ride.
We will issue a number to each rider prior to the ride. This number will be the order in which you will be leaving the staging area. Riders who are doing the TC Quest will be released before riders doing the TC Gold. The ride order within each class will be determined by a random draw. Riders who express a desire to ride as a group will have only one tag in the draw and will be assigned sequential numbers based upon that tag.
We will start releasing riders at 4:45 PDST (8:45 ADST) from John Valk BMW. Riders will be released a couple a time. We do not want riders riding in a pack for safety reasons. Our goal is to get all riders out by 5:15 PDST (9:15 ADST) and release the witnesses by that time. If you arrive at the staging area after 5:30 PDST (9:30 PDST), you will not be counted as part of the ride

Have your witness form filled out and your odometer
reading recorded before requesting a witness.
When you are ready to go, advise one of the witnesses.
They will validate your odometer reading and license plate number; and add
the time and their personal information to the witness form, etc.
Once your witness form is signed. Notify the ride
coordinator and they will direct you with regard to staging for release.
When you are released from the staging area, you are
expected to immediately begin your ride. If your starting receipt is not
within a reasonable time of your release, you will not be counted as part of
the group ride.
From staging you will travel to the Chevron at 1900
Burrard Street. Go West on 4th Avenue 1 block from John Valk BMW to Burrard
Street. Turn North (right) on Burrard Street and right into the Chevron
Station (1 block). Fill up, get your receipt and
move your bike away from the pump to make room for the riders behind you.
If you are gathering sand and water as part of your ride, continue north on Burrard Street staying in the left lane to the second set of lights and follow the turn to the left (if you cross the bridge you have missed the left turn). Travel west on Cornwall 5 blocks and turn north (right) on Arbutus Street ) - there is a traffic Light at Arbutus. The parking lot for Kitsilano Beach ( known to the locals as Kits Beach), is on your immediate left. Ride to the extreme north west corner of the lot and walk out onto the beach and get your sand and water.

When you pass Cambie Street ( another large bridge to your left with traffic signals). 6th Avenue becomes 2nd Avenue ( don't ask) Continue your drive east on 2nd Ave until Quebec Avenue where you will make a left turn at the lights and go north 3 blocks to Terminal Avenue . (Terminal Avenue is after the MacDonald's parking lot and at a traffic signal). Turn right onto Terminal Avenue.

Terminal Avenue will turn into 1st Avenue when you cross Clark Drive.Drive East on First Avenue until you see the signs for the Trans Canada Highway ( shown as Highway One) Stay to the right ride up the ramp and onto the highway heading east bound and merge carefully moving to the left lane as soon as possible. Within one mile the HOV lane begins and Motorcycle are allowed the HOV lanes. ( Please note that is it a large fine to cross the solid line of the HOV lane you are only allowed to move in or out of the HOV lane when a dotted line is visible). Highway One through Vancouver is heavily patrolled by the RCMP and they drive unmarked Ford Windstars, Nissan Pick up trucks and other non descript vehicles.

Total distance from the Kitsilano Beach to Highway
One ( The Trans Canada Highway) is about 6.5 miles.
You are off to Halifax. Ride safe, don't push your limits, and most of all enjoy your ride.
You will exit TC-1 onto East 1st Avenue heading west.

Take the East 1st Street west.
At the Grandview Viaduct, East 1st Street become Terminal Avenue. Continue west to Quebec Street.

Take Quebec Street south to West 2nd Avenue.
West 2nd Avenue will jog and after a few blocks intersect with West 6th Avenue
Just past Birch Street, there is a "Y" on with West 6th Avenue going to the left and West 4th Avenue going to the right. You will go to the right on West 4th Avenue.

Take West 4th Avenue to Burrand Street. Turn right (north) onto Burrand Street.
