Ball State University's urban planning faculty are part of a team of more than 50 full-time professors, instructors, and visiting scholars in the College of Architecture and Planning who are committed to teaching, research, practice, and public service.
These teacher-scholars have studied and taught in leading academic institutions throughout the world, and most have professional experience in the subject areas they teach. They apply their knowledge and skills through projects in communities throughout the state and region.
The urban planning faculty are diverse in their interests, backgrounds, and education, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of planning. Their specialties include urban design, land use, transportation, housing and community development, neighborhood planning, economic development, international development, rural and small-town planning, environmental and energy planning, planning history, and computer applications.
