Elaine Fisher, Building Better Communities special projects coordinator, was recently named a Distinguished Hoosier by Gov. Mitch Daniels who honored Fisher for her 24 years of economic development efforts at Ball State, raising more than $3.5 million in grants for the university and for her many other accomplishments. The honor is one of the highest awards given by the State of Indiana to Hoosiers who have brought honor to the state through their accomplishments.

More than 3,000 people from the Ball State and Muncie communities attended Symphony on the Green on June 13. Held on the Quad, the event featured performances by the Muncie Symphony Orchestra in addition to other artists, including choral groups and theater troupes.
