Barack Obama at Ball State
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois addressed a crowd of thousands of people during a town hall style meeting Saturday, April 12, in Irving Gymnasium on campus. Obama spoke for more than an hour and answered questions from audience members related to the economy, the war in Iraq, education and health care. FULL STORY

Student newspaper claims top national honors
For the ninth consecutive year, The Ball State Daily News has been recognized with Gold Crown awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The Daily News was the only newspaper this year to win two Gold Crowns, the organization's top honor. FULL STORY

Assembly line production
Kindergarten students from Pleasant View Elementary School participated in a production run April 4 at Ball State. Four classes of students came to the Applied Technology Building to work as employees of the "Hanging Planter Manufacturing Company." The one-hour session included assembly, packaging and inspection of the hanging planters the children took home with them. Ball State student secures second major business plan competition
Entrepreneurship student Matt Bare recently claimed victory in his second major business plan competition. His first place pitch at the Nascent 500, he received $10,000, a jug of milk and a ride in a pace car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. FULL STORY
