Four decades later, Ball State remembers historic RFK visit
Retired journalism professor Earl Conn played a pivotal role in bringing Robert F. Kennedy to campus in 1968. Forty years after the historic visit of the then-Democratic presidential candidate on the same day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Conn and other Ball State faculty recall their involvement with a variety of emotions. Chelsea Clinton
Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, meets with Ball State President Jo Ann M. Gora and students during a campaign stop at the university on March 25. Clinton was joined by actor Sean Astin. An estimated 800 to 1,000 people attended the informal question-and-answer session, during which Clinton explained her mother's political stance on issues ranging from health care and education to civil rights and college affordability.
