Psychology Programs at Ball State
Three Ball State departments offer degrees in psychology:

  • Counseling Psychology -- explores the forces within a person (such as traits, attitudes, and goals) as well as forces within a situation (such as social norms and incentives). Personality and social psychologists seek to unravel the mysteries of individual and social life in areas as wide-ranging as prejudice, romantic attraction, persuasion, friendship, helping, aggression, conformity, and group interaction.

  • Educational Psychology -- a social science that involves the study of development, learning, adjustment, measurement, research, and statistics as related to the problem of understanding human behavior.

  • Psychological Science -- the science that studies the human mind and behavior, often referred to simply as "psychology."
