Getting Connected
Network Connectivity at Ball State
Ball State University recognizes the key role telecommunications play in the missions of teaching, learning, research, and service. Telecommunications technologies, networks, and services are the underpinning infrastructure upon which many activities that are critical to students, faculty and staff rely. Over the years, Ball State has made a significant investment in computing and information technology to sustain its academic programs and support operations. The University has made steady progress in the use of computing and information technology in the past decade. As a result, Ball State students, faculty, and staff have become increasingly active in the use of technology to fulfill their scholarship, research, support, and administrative needs. Like most universities, Ball State faces a continuous challenge to provide and maintain its advanced level of resources to adequately address growing computing and information technology demands.

In today's world, the network is coming into its own as an indispensable resource. It is vital for it to be ubiquitous, reliable and transparent in its use.  The Networking/Infrastructure group of Ball State University Computing Services is dedicated to providing the engineering and support required to keep the University's network as reliable and simple to use as any other critical service. We provide a full level of support at the local area, wide area, and backbone levels.
