BSU Computer Usernames and Passwords
Many of the web based applications, for example, Blackboard, Webmail, or Web Gradebook,  require that you enter a valid BSU computer username and password before being granted access to the application. Most BSU students, faculty and staff already have one. If you have an Outlook account, the username and password you use for those applications constitute your BSU computer username and password.

Your computer username contains a maximum of twelve characters. The username can be composed of alpha/numeric characters or the underscore. Your last name should be included within the username. Some sample usernames are jsmith3, 00tdavis, or james_joans.

Getting a BSU computer username or having its associated password reset is easy. Do one of the following:

  • If you are a distance education nursing student, contact the Nursing Learning Resource Center at 765-285-5584 (open 8-5 M-F) or send e-mail to nursingLRC@bsu.edu.
  • If your are student who is enrolled in an Extended Education Course, contact them at 1-800-872-0369 (8-5 M-F).
  • All other students, faculty and staff should bring a valid picture-id to the UCS Information desk which is located in RB165. You will be given your user name and/or password while you wait. The process takes about 5 minutes to complete. Please note that the Information desk staff cannot perform password resets over the phone, nor can they reset passwords or issue account information when the picture ID does not match that of the ID holder.
