Electronic Mass E-mail Request
As a service to the university community, Ball State employees may submit a  mass e-mail request online. This service provides a mechanism to distribute university-related and education-related materials to a specific audience via e-mail. All mass e-mail requests to students must be approved by the Student Affairs Office. All mass e-mail requests to BSU employees must be approved by University Human Resource Services.

Sending a mass e-mail is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to sending a paper mailing. However, strict policies have been implemented to ensure that all mass e-mails sent are appropriate for their intended audience. The e-mail must fall within the mission of Ball State University, and senders are encouraged to target their audience. If the information is not appropriate for the entire campus community (all-students), then do not submit a request for an all-student e-mail. Instead, specify the exact recipient group that your message should be sent to. Please read and follow the guidelines in the Sender's FAQ before submitting your request.

As an alternative to submitting a mass e-mail request, employees can send e-mails to the "All BSU Faculty/Staff" distribution list.  The allbsu list can be accessed via the global address list in your e-mail account.  This is a quick and easy way to distribute university-related content to a large audience.  It is less formal and does not require approval.  Please be aware that not all employees participate in this mailing group.  To send to allbsu, you must be a member of allbsu.  The UCS HelpDesk maintains the allbsu list, so employees should contact the UCS HelpDesk to be added or removed from the allbsu list.

If you wish to send an advertisement for an upcoming event, consider adding the event the University Calendar using the event addition form instead of sending out a mass mailing.
