MSCA - Use on Personally Owned Computers
The Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA) allows each eligible Ball State faculty and staff member and each student to use selected software products on one computer he or she owns.

Ball State may grant limited Work at Home Use Rights to faculty and staff members at no extra charge. These rights permit the use of desktop products on a personally owned computer for work-related purposes only.

Note: Users are not licensed to use the software at home for personal purposes.

The Microsoft software may be distributed to and used only by persons who agree to abide by the MSCA's restrictions (summarized below), applicable License Agreement terms (see the web page at http://www.microsoft.com/Education/license/terms.asp), and applicable University policies.

Faculty and Staff:

  1. Microsoft Corporation licenses all software made available through the MSCA.
  2. As a Ball State faculty or staff member, you may order one (1) copy of the media for each MSCA software product. The product may be installed and used, for University-related activities, on one (1) computer that you own or lease.
  3. MSCA software may not be duplicated, sold, rented, leased, loaned, given, or otherwise transferred to another person or organization.
  4. Products made available through the MSCA are licensed only for use during the term of the agreement. If the MSCA is terminated or is not renewed by the University, you are required to remove the software from the computer on which it is installed or else purchase a license for each product.
  5. If your status as a Ball State faculty or staff member ceases, you are required to remove the software from the computer on which it is installed or else purchase a license for each product.
  6. MSCA software may not be reverse engineered, decompiled, or disassembled.
  7. Each software product is licensed as a single product. Its component parts, if any, may not be separated for use on more than one computer.
  8. MSCA software is subject to U.S. Department of Commerce export controls (see the web page at http://www.microsoft.com/exporting/).

Students:

  1. Microsoft Corporation licenses all software made available through the MSCA.
  2. As a Ball State student, registered for at least one credit-offering course, you may purchase one (1) copy of the media for each MSCA software product. The product may be installed and used on one (1) computer that you own or lease.
  3. MSCA software may not be duplicated, sold, rented, leased, loaned, given, or otherwise transferred to another person or organization.
  4. If the MSCA is terminated or is not renewed by the University while you are still a student, you are required to remove any software acquired under the MSCA from the computer on which it is installed or else purchase a license for each product.
  5. If you graduate or leave Ball State University while a Microsoft Campus Agreement is still in effect, you are granted a perpetual license for the MSCA products you have installed at that time.
  6. MSCA software may not be reverse engineered, decompiled, or disassembled.
  7. Each software product is licensed as a single product. Its component parts, if any, may not be separated for use on more than one computer.
  8. Persons acquiring software under the MSCA are not entitled to free telephone support.
  9. MSCA software is subject to U.S. Department of Commerce export controls (see the web page at http://www.microsoft.com/exporting/).
