University Computing Services (UCS) works hard to limit the amount of SPAM that gets delivered to individual e-mail accounts. After requests from all across campus, consultation with the appropriate University Senate committees, discussions at all levels and the responses from a campus wide survey which overwhelmingly requested spam filtering, UCS has implemented spam filtering by Frontbridge. During initial tracking of the approximately 2 million e-mail transactions per day, more than 90% were identified as spam. These unwanted messages have now been now been filtered out of your e-mail box. For more information on how to use Frontbridge visit Enhanced Spam Filtering.
In addition to what UCS is doing to help eliminate SPAM, each e-mail user at Ball State can take measures to further eliminate the SPAM or junk mail in their mailbox. In the Related Articles section of this page, you will see three links.
