Individuals affected by the purge are recent graduates, students no longer enrolled at the University and employees no longer employed by the University. In the event you are still an enrolled student or continue to be a paid employee of the university, please contact University Computing Services Helpdesk at 765-285-1517 or by e-mail at helpdesk@bsu.edu to discuss your status. You should also contact the UCS Helpdesk if you have retired with emeritus status, or a student that has left the University due to a call to active military service. (Requests for accounts to be extended during tour of duty may require documentation of active military service.)
After accounts are removed, individuals will no longer be able to use Ball State University computer systems for e-mail, web publishing, etc. UCS recommends backing-up all important e-mail, documents, web pages, and other files stored on university servers prior to the purge. After accounts have expired, it will be too late to retrieve documents or any information stored on University owned computer systems. Some of the services that will no longer be available for access after accounts are removed include e-mail (the e-mail account the message was sent to), web publishing through web.bsu.edu or iweb.bsu.edu, iLocker file storage, Blackboard, as well as any other services which require a Ball State Computer Username and Password.
If account owners need assistance moving or backing up important files or documents, please contact the University Computing Services Helpdesk at 765-285-1517 or by e-mail at helpdesk@bsu.edu.
UCS recommends that everyone take advantage of the Ball State University lifetime iConnect computer account. Participates in this service receives a Ball State University e-mail name and address as well as 250MB of online e-mail storage, all free of charge. In fact, the account created through this opportunity will last as long as you continue to use it. If you are a student or an employee you can learn more about this lifetime e-mail account and sign-up by visiting http://www.bsu.edu/iconnect/. Alumni should visit www.bsu.edu/alumni/iconnect.
