Manuscript Guidelines

The following requirements must be complied with when submitting a manuscript for publication consideration to The Teacher Educator.

  1. New! Manuscripts are now accepted only through our new Web-based system.  To have a manuscript considered for publication, please follow the following instructions. In your browser, fill out the Author Submission Form and then click on the submit button. You will be sent an e-mail and password and prompted to visit the login page. Once logged in with your e-mail address and password you may submit your manuscript by clicking the "Add Manuscript" link and following the directions.
  2. All manuscripts, including text, quotations, figures, tables, and references, must meet the style requirements of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (Fifth Edition, 2001). Within the Publication Manual, authors should follow the sections on "Manuscript Preparation and Sample Paper" (pp. 283-320), "Elements and Examples of References in APA Style" (pp. 231-281), and "Checklist for Manuscript Submission" (pp. 379-383). Manuscripts that do not conform to these requirements will be returned to the authors and will delay review. Note: Only under rare occasions will we accept appendices; authors should make every attempt to incorporate salient features of the material into the text.
  3. Because the manuscript will be sent for a blind review, no identifying information (i.e., university, school, and author names) should be included within the manuscript.  Also, given the digital reviewing process in place, please ensure that under "document properties" your identifying information has been removed.
  4. Include a 100-150 word abstract.
  5. References should be checked thoroughly for accuracy and refer only to material cited in the manuscript.
  6. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary documentation to include copyrighted materials from other sources and are required to submit a copy of such permission with the original manuscript.

Note: The editors reserve the right to make minor editorial changes that do not significantly alter the substance of the text.
