Faculty Fellows ProgramAn opportunity exists for an appointment as Faculty Fellow in the Office of Academic Research and Sponsored Programs. They are made on a flexible basis, for periods of a few weeks up to a calendar year. Responsibilities vary, but are likely to include external proposal development with the department or college of the Fellow. The appointment is half-time, and replacement dollars are provided to the department to cover teaching assignment replacements. Those interested should monitor the web page and newsletter of OARSP for additional information.
Special Assigned Leave with Pay ProgramRegular, full-time faculty who have held appointments at the university for a minimum of five years are eligible to apply for leave with pay in order to improve their professional effectiveness as teachers, scholars, and creative artists.

Assigned LeaveIn addition to the Special Assigned Leave with Pay Program deans of colleges, with the approval of the provost, may grant assigned leaves with pay in those cases where salary replacement is unnecessary. Such leaves are granted solely for the benefit of the university.

Australia Centre DirectorA three-semester assignment --druing the two semesters before going to Australia, the director-elect, with the help of the Center for International Programs staff, will be on campus recruiting and planning the logistics for the semester abroad. During the semester in Australia, the director will teach two courses and perform administrative tasks. The director will be paid regular salary for the semester in Australia.

International Teaching PositionsBall State is involved in two consortia, Midwest Consortium for Study Abroad (MCSA) and Kentucky Institute of International Studies (KIIS) which offer teaching opportunities and directorships at a number of sites, including Vienna, Austria, and Macerata, Italy. Duration, salary and benefits vary according to program.

BSU Visiting Scholar GrantThese funds, with awards up to $3,000, support existing exchange programs by primarily underwriting Ball State faculty travel and room and board monies, as well as supplies and equipment costs, in the preparation and implementation of exchange programs, whether they are short-term or long-term. Foreign Counterparts who visit BSU are also eligible for funding. Any monies awarded to a particular program that are unspent by July 5, after the intended fiscal year, will no longer apply to that program.

ETEN Visiting Scholar FellowshipBall State is a member of a consortium known as the European Teacher Education Network (ETEN). Ball State faculty can spend ten days to two weeks visiting the campus of a European member of ETEN for the purpose of lecturing and sharing research ideas and findings. Applications for ETEN fellowships are available at the Center for International Programs. Additional information may be obtained from the contacts listed below.
