University Computer Labs provide the faculty and students of Ball State University with the computing resources, hardware, software, and capable staff at various locations across campus to help them excel in their academic endeavors. UCL operates 12 labs with nearly 350 stations for more than 660 hours each week. The labs are divided into three categories:
General Use Labs
Multipurpose labs are located in various buildings across campus to provide access to personal computers (PC and Macintosh). These labs support a wide variety of software ranging from word-processing packages to web design software as required by the curricula. To install course related software in the general use labs or to reserve a computer lab for class instruction, please contact Melissa Sorrell, Assistant Coordinator, UCS General Labs.
Adaptive Computer Technology
Ball State is a forerunner in providing technology to enhance the academic experience of students with disabilities. Voice recognition, speech synthesis, screen magnification, Braille printing and scanning hardware and software are available throughout the campus. RB 134G is dedicated to users with disabilities. For Braille, tactile graphics, or book scanning assistance, please contact Carlos Taylor, ACT Specialist.
Computer-Based Testing Labs (inQsit)
Two computer-based testing labs are located in RB 134D and CN 313. CN 313 is a temporary testing lab until Student Venter renovations are completed. Additional labs are added during finals week to accommodate student. Please contact the Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator of Labs for assistance.
