Charlie Adams
Indiana motivational speaker Charlie Adams inspires and challenges audiences around the world with the "Stoke the Fire Within" messages.  Using insights from over 4000 interviews with champions of all walks of life, Adams kindles the flames of excellence within individuals and organizations.  As a speaker, he reveals how champions of like stay on fire in all circumstances.  Adams was a TV News and Sports Anchor and Reporter for 23 years across America who focused on positive news and peak performers.  In 2009, Adams will be speaking at events in locations from Juneau, Alaska to the Cayman Islands. His rip-roaring messages are a combination of inspiration and practical tools that audience members can put to use right away.

Brenda Bailey-Hughes
Brenda Bailey-Hughes, one of our own Cardinal alums, is the co- owner of Team Performance Consulting, a professional development and training company focusing on higher education and financial institutions.  Team Performance is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the Association of Business Communication, and is accredited through the Center of Applied Psychological Testing.  Team Performance has served an extensive client list in a variety of over 50 different training topics.  Brenda has her Master of Art's degree in Organizational Communication and Professional Development from Ball State University. Brenda is the author of one book, The Administrative Assistant. She resides in Bloomington, Indiana, with her family.

Doug Baker 
Doug Baker has been at Ball State University since 2000 as a Human Resources Representative for the departments of Residence Halls Dining Service and Housing & Residence.  Doug received a bachelor's degree in Pre-professional Psychology and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Ball State University.  He also completed his Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification in 1998.  Prior to coming to Ball State University, Doug spent eight years in unemployment claims and career development with Indiana Work Force Development.

Byron Ballard
Byron Ballard has been an employee of the Ball State University Career Center since 1996 and currently serves as the Customer Service Assistant.  He is responsible for coordinating the referral process for on-campus student employment and supervises the students in the reception area.  Byron assists with providing service training for the department including its student employees.  He brings over twenty years of customer service experience both on the front lines and training others at the university as well as for various hotels and conference centers. 

Sherry Barlow
Sherry Barlow is the Director of Accounting in the Accounting Office at BSU.  She was formerly the Assistant Manager of Accounting at BSU.  In her current position, Sherry provides oversight for the Accounting Office as they generate all non-payroll university payments, accounting transactions, reconciliations, and certain tax payments.  Sherry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting earned at Ball State University.

Debbra Bear
Debbra started working at BSU in 1969 in the Duplicating Department.  She managed the Student Center Post Office for two years and in 1978 moved to the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs where she began processing travel requests and reimbursements.  Debbra graduated from Muncie Southside High School.  She was on the original Employee Activities Committee and started the first BSU Craft Show.  In 1991, Debbra received the coveted A. Jane Morton Award.

Jim Borgmann
Jim Borgmann's practice with individuals focuses on assisting with estate planning, drafting of Wills, Trusts, Living Wills, and Powers of Attorney. His business practice focuses on establishing, acquiring, assisting, and transferring businesses with an emphasis on health care businesses and family businesses.  Mr. Borgmann has his undergraduate degree from Purdue University (B.S., 1984) and his law degree from Indiana University (J.D., 1987).  He is a member of the Muncie Bar Association (president 2001-2002), Indiana Bar Association, American Bar Association, Indiana Certified Public Accountant Society, American Health Lawyers Association, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.

Judith Moore Burke
Judy Moore Burke has been Director of Human Resources at Ball State University since 1999. Prior to that time, she was Assistant Director of Human Resources for Academic Affairs and Director of Training and Development. During her career at the university, she has delivered many training programs on various management topics-interviewing and hiring, performance appraisals, discipline and terminations, etc. Judy received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University in Business Education. She also has two master's degrees from Ball State University-one in education and one in management. In 1995, she successfully completed her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Terry Burke
As a Training and Human Resource Specialist, Terry Burke wears many hats at Ball State including Human Resource Development, training, and all aspects of Human Resources at Facilities Planning and Sports Facilities management.  A member of East Central Indiana Human Resource Association, and Big 10 & Friends Trainers group, Burke is certified in Myers Briggs Behavioral Type Indicator, Kepner Tregoe PS/DM, and Neuro Linguistics Programming Practitioner with over 20 years experience in Human Resource Development.  Burke completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master's degree from Ball State in Adult and Community education with a minor in educational psychology.

Steve Cashdollar
Steve Cashdollar is a Financial Consultant with AXA Advisors and a Retirement Plan Specialist - The Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania. Steve specializes in retirement planning and is a registered investment advisor representative. He has over 10 years financial consulting experience working with individuals and organizations, and has worked with Ball State faculty and staff since 2003. 

Dr. Marilyn R. Chalupa
Dr. Chalupa is an associate professor in the Information Systems and Operations Management Department and has been teaching technology and business communications courses at Ball State University since 1988. She is active in her professional organizations by holding several executive board offices acting as reviewer for professional journals, and publishing her research in the top journals in her field. She has received several research awards and is currently president-elect of the Organizational Systems Research Association (OSRA).

Patricia Clouse CMT, NCTMB
Patricia is a 2003 graduate of Healthy Lifestyle School of Massage Therapy.  She performs Swedish massage, along with trigger point therapy and deep tissue massage and stone massage.  She is currently located in Maria Bingham Hall at Ball Memorial Hospital. Her hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. 9 am -5 pm. Special appointments can be scheduled.  She is an Indiana State Board Certified Massage Therapist. She is also a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.

Diane Drake
Diane Drake is a Muncie native.  She graduated from Ball State University's Honors College in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  Diane joined the University Human Resource Services staff in 2001 and her current title is Worker's Compensation and Leave Programs Specialist.  In her position, she handles Worker's Compensation claims as well as all aspects of the various leave programs at the university.  In particular, she is responsible for administering the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  
Debra Nelson Dunbar
Debra Nelson Dunbar has been working with universities, companies, health care institutions and financial institutions for the last 14 years. She is a University Consultant for Employee and Organizational Development within University Human Resource Services at Indiana University and is responsible for providing training and consulting for seven Indiana University campuses. She also has a consulting business and works with a myriad of businesses and organizations on an annual basis. Debra conducts approximately 300 training programs on an annual basis and typically works on 30 consulting projects per year. She has a bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology from DePauw University and a Master of Science Degree in Higher Education from Indiana University.

Dr. Jane Ellery
Jane joined the faculty at the Fisher Institute in August of 2003. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Health (Social and Behavioral Health) and has served in many community-based health and wellness capacities. Jane currently coordinates the Wellness Management graduate program, and she has experience in workplace wellness, managed care administration, workers compensations programming, community-based cardiac rehabilitation, and hospital-based cardiovascular diagnostics.  Her major interests include encouraging students to experiment with different ways to use technology in wellness management practice and working to develop partnerships to ensure consumer-focused approaches for wellness initiatives and research practices.
 
Kevin Eikenberry
Kevin Eikenberry is an expert on team and leadership development and the Chief Potential Officer of The Kevin Eikenberry Group.  He has spent the last 16 years helping organizations all across North America on leadership, learning, teams and teamwork, creativity, and more.  He is a frequent presenter at professional conferences and a sought after keynote speaker.  He currently serves on two Boards of Directors in order to contribute, hone his leadership skills and add an additional dimension to his experiences. He is the author of the bestselling books Remarkable Leadership and Vantagepoints on Learning and Life, and a contributing author to over 20 other books.  He publishes three electronic newsletters, a magazine, and two popular blogs collectively read by over 40,000 people worldwide. 

Sali Kay Falling, J.D.
Sali Kay Falling received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Anderson University in 1986, and then completed a graduate program in Health Science leading to the Master of Arts Degree in 1988 from Ball State University. Ms. Falling received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law in December of 1995. In February of 2001, she became the first Director of University Compliance, and Executive Director of University Compliance at Ball State University. As Executive Director of University Compliance, Ms. Falling oversees and coordinates activity involving a number of university-wide compliance issues. Ms. Falling has also served as an instructor in the Department of Physiology and Health Science.

Joan Fox
Joan Fox is the president of Eagle Inspiration Training & Development, Inc., a national training and consulting firm specializing in the area of competing and winning with customer service.   Founded in 1988, her firm has transformed the customer service cultures of leading organizations across many industries.  Joan's clients include many on the business "A list."  AT&T, IBM, National Amusements (parent company of Viacom), Xerox, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Wells Fargo, Omnicare Pharmacy and numerous others have all sought her services.  Joan has been published in many trade publications, interviewed on TV and radio for her insights, and is listed in the Who's Who of Professional Speakers.  Her new book "The Chronicles of Sir Vival: Customer Service Under Siege" is endorsed by Ken Blanchard, author of "The One Minute Manager" and "Leading at a Higher Level."

Dr. Stan Geidel
Dr. Stanley Geidel is Program Manager for Academic Research and Sponsored Programs here at Ball State.  Stan has given presentations on grantsmanship to national audiences in San Diego and Baltimore as an invited speaker for the Community of Science; here in Indiana he has presented at the Indiana Forum for Research Administration.  Stan displays a comprehensive knowledge of grants as they pertain to researchers, scholars, and creative artists in all the various academic disciplines. 

Deb Goens 
Deb Goens is the International Center Immigration Foreign Student Advisor/Immigration Specialist at Ball State University.   She has a bachelor's degree in Special Education and two master's degrees—teaching English as a Foreign Language and Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education.  Deb has been employed at The Center for International Programs since 1990.  She has coordinated sending Americans overseas, accompanied a group of Americans on a study trip abroad, and worked with various aspects of foreign student advising, programming, foreign visiting scholars, foreign faculty, etc.  She has traveled to Canada, Mexico, parts of the Caribbean and parts of Europe. 

Andrew F. Gothreau
Andrew Gothreau is the Assistant Director of Human Resources, Training and Development.  Andy is a retired U.S. Army Colonel.  He joined Ball State University in 2000 following a career in the army and various positions in the private sector.  He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and has master's degrees from Indiana University (Political Science) and Shippensburg University (Public Administration).  Andy is a certified training consultant and Langevin Learning Services certified master trainer.  Andy is responsible for organizing approximately 80 workshops annually that address a variety of topics from "Attitude Development" to "Zestful Living."  He also facilitates training sessions including "Coaching," "Effective Presentations," and "Time Management."

Steven Graunke
Steven Graunke has been the Assessment Research Analyst in Ball State's Office of Academic Assessment and Institutional Research since 2004.  During that time, he has administered numerous surveys, conducted focus groups, and engaged in a wide variety of assessment projects with various offices and academic departments throughout campus.  In addition, Steven has published articles in the Journal of College Student Development and the NACADA Journal; and has presented at the Annual Conference on the First Year Experience as well as the Indiana Association for Institutional Research Annual Conference.  His research interests include first-year students, retention issues, and survey methodology.

Guy Harris
Guy Harris is a leadership and business development coach, consultant, trainer and speaker.  Guy draws on over 20 years of combined professional and military experience to help business owners, leaders, and team members improve personal and business performance.   He has held various corporate positions ranging from front-line supervision to senior business management for major multinational and smaller companies.  He now devotes all of his efforts to helping individuals and teams learn to apply human behavioral and organizational development principles.  He has helped thousands of people grow in their ability to set and achieve goals, communicate more effectively, and lead their organizations in a more positive and productive fashion. 

Patty Hollingsworth
Patty Hollingsworth is the director of Ball State University's employee health enhancement program.  She came to Ball State in 2007 and has over 20 years of experience in managing successful health education and worksite wellness programs.  Patty is delighted to be at Ball State University and is looking forward to working with all of the employees.

Deborah Howell
Deb has been with Ball State for ten years.  She is the Senior Systems Security Communications Manager  in University Computing Services.  Her responsibilities involve a variety of security awareness issues and security information management. She also is involved in data protection, business continuity and disaster recovery.  Deb completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ball State, and is working on a MBA.  She currently serves as Vice President of the Indiana Higher Education Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (IHEBCDR) User Group.  She is a member of the Research and Education Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) and InfraGard. 

Dr. Beth Kelsey
Beth Kelsey is Assistant Professor and Interim NP/DNP Program Director for BSU School of Nursing.  She teaches Primary Care of Women, Advanced Health Assessment, and Advanced Practice Role for nurse practitioner students in the masters program.  Dr. Kelsey is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who has provided women's health care in a variety of settings over the past 29 years.  She has presented nationally and published on women's health issues.  Kelsey completed her master's degree in nursing and her doctoral degree in adult and community education at Ball State

John Knox
John Knox is the Student Employment Coordinator in the Career Center at Ball State University.  He is responsible for insuring that students apply and are hired for student positions within the University and Federal Work Study-Community Service programs in compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations.  He serves as the liaison between student employee supervisors and administrative agencies effecting student employment.  He is a graduate of Ball State University and comes to the Career Center with experience in management and public sector human resources.  He is a member of the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators and proud father of a current BSU student.

Tatiana A. Kolovou
Tatiana Kolovou  has her MBA from the University of Indianapolis and she presents at conferences around the US and 15 countries around the globe.  She is the co-owner of Team Performance Consulting, a professional development and training company focusing on higher education and financial institutions.   The training company has served an extensive client list in a variety of over 50 different training topics. Tatiana is a professional member of the American Society for Training & Development, the Association of Business Communication, and is accredited through the Center of Applied Psychological Testing.  Tatiana lives in Bloomington, Indiana, with her family and hails from Athens, Greece.

Ashley Magistrelli
Ashley Magistrelli is a registered dietitian currently working as a nutrition consultant/graduate assistant at the Working Well Program in the Amelia Wood Health Center. Ashley is orignially from the Chicago area.  She completed a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics/nutrition from Western Illinois University. After graduating she came to Ball State University to start her dietetic internship and masters program. She is currently finishing up her thesis and plans to graduate in May, 2010 with a Master's of Science Degree in dietetics/nutrition.

Larry Markle
Larry Markle is the Director of Disabled Student Development at Ball State.  He was Assistant Director for five years prior to becoming director.  Larry is involved in several regional and national groups and is a past president of the Indiana Association on Higher Education and Disability.  Larry presents annually to numerous national and regional groups on issues pertaining to disability and postsecondary education, with an emphasis on topics related to the transition to and from college for students with disabilities and disability athletics.  Larry holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ball State.

Chef Lucas Miller
A native of Anderson IN, Chef Miller graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management.  While attending Purdue University he worked at the Jinling Hotel in Nanjing, China. After graduating from Purdue, he furthered his culinary education by attending the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park NY.  During his education at the CIA, he worked at the Ritz-Carlton Mellenia Singapore  under venerated Chef Christophe Megel.  In Asia for the second time, he explored the diversity of Southeast Asia to better enhance his culinary repertoire.  Lucas began his experiences at Ball State working as Chef at LaFollette Square Dining.  He is now the Manager of Menu Development and Test Kitchen for Ball State University Dining.

Susan Naylor
Susan Naylor is Coordinator of Faculty/Professional Personnel/Budget Specialist in University Human Resource Services.  Prior to coming to Ball State University in 2001, she managed a real estate office for twelve years.  Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

Mike Polites
Mike Polites has helped  thousands of people overcome their fear of communicating.  He believes that learning to be more comfortable in front of an audience can truly benefit everyone's career.  As a past-president of a local Toastmaster's International group, Mike became the Indiana State Champion of Humorous Speaking.  After earning a bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from Ball State University, Mike worked in sales and consulting.  In addition to his educational and teaching experiences, he served as a university ambassador while visiting Asia and Europe.  He later went back to Ball State and obtained both a Certified Training Certificate and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis on training and consulting in organizations.  As a professional stand-up comedian, Mike often uses humor to emphasize his points making his workshops both educational and fun. 

Tania Said
As the curator of education at the Ball State University Museum of Art, Tania Said has both education and outreach responsibilities.  Tania regularly leads groups at the Museum of Art, and presents to classes and at national conferences on numerous topics.  Some of her previous work experience includes: director of the Bead Museum, community services manager at the Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies, national service fellow of the Corporation for National Service, and public information officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  Tania has been at Ball State since 2005.  She earned her M.A. in Museum Studies and Visual Culture from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and her B.A. in Telecommunications and Art History from Ball State University.

Rob Tyler
Rob Tyler leads the team at Tyler Wealth Management in the financial planning for each of its clients. Rob graduated from Ball State University in 1995 with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, concentrating in Corporate Finance and Financial Institutions.  Rob has been involved in various aspects of the financial planning process and industry since January 1995 and has been responsible for comprehensive financial planning since 1998. Rob has been a part-time adjunct instructor at Ball State University in the Department of Finance since 2001, teaching Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, Principles of Investment Management, and Employee Benefits and Retirement Plans.

Barbara R. Wills 
Barb Wills is Associate Director of Training in Emerging Technologies.  She earned a BS in Business Education and MA in Adult and Community Education from Ball State University.  She has been an educator for 25 years and regularly presents workshops and hands-on training on a variety of topics.  She has extensive training in Microsoft applications and applications for media and web development. 

Vivian Wright-Defrees
Vivian Wright-Defrees is the owner/President of Success Development, inc., a 20+ year old employee development company. For several years, she has provided numerous training programs for Ball State University - as contract and faculty.  Previously, she was a corporate HR and Training and Development liaison in long-term care, as well as a training coordinator for a manufacturing company. She has developed and delivered numerous training programs such as management of self/others, inter/intrapersonal communications, training and development, healthy work environments, and customer service.  She holds a Masters of Arts in Education from Ball State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
