Biography

Michael Daehn, Assistant Professor of Theatre Education and Directing, is starting his third year at Ball State. Before coming here, he was the principal of the Renaissance School for the Arts for the first four years of its existence and the high school drama director of a large and storied theatre program at Appleton High School West in Wisconsin. He is a former chair of the Midland College (NE) Theatre and Speech Department and has also served as theatre faculty at Lakeland College(WI), Lon Morris College(TX), South Dakota State, UW Stevens Point (WI) and Oklahoma University.

Daehn has directed over a hundred full length theatre productions on the high school, college, community theatre and professional levels and is in pre-production for The Landlord which will open next April in New York City. Among his acting credits is a stint as the original McGruff the Crime Dog. His wife Patty is a costume designer and each of them bring two daughters to their family combo.
