Students in Ball State University's production option are encouraged to participate in the Department of Theatre and Dance production program, which offers numerous performance opportunities. The production season includes the following:

• Mainstage Series: four theatre productions and two major dance concerts produced in the 410-seat University Theatre
• Strother Studio Series: three or four intimate productions presented in the Edward S. Strother Theatre, a 100-seat flexible black box theatre
• Workshop Series: variety of student productions presented in a 40-seat lab theatre
• Downtown Dinner Theatre: early summer production including dinner at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
