B.A./B.S. Theatre Education Curriculum
Ball State University's B.A./B.S. Theatre Education major requires 40-41 credit hours. All secondary education majors also must complete 39 credit hours in professional education courses. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required of all teacher education majors. The lowest acceptable grade in a course for credit toward a major or minor in Theatre o Dance is C. Any student receiving  a C- or lower must retake the course in order to receive credit towards a major or minor

The theatre education major is required for students wanting to pursue careers in teaching theatre on the middle- or high-school level. All education majors create a teaching portfolio that must be reviewed at three decision points in the educational process to continue in teacher education.
