Theatrical Studies Production Season
Students in Ball State University's theatrical studies option participate fully in all aspects of the Department of Theatre and Dance production program--acting, running crews for shows, scenery and costume construction, box office, house management, ushering, etc. The production season includes the following:

  • Mainstage Series: four theatre productions and two major dance concerts produced in the 410-seat University Theatre
  • Actors Studio Series: three or four intimate productions presented in the Edward S. Strother Theatre, a 100-seat flexible black box theatre
  • Workshop Series: variety of student productions presented in a 40-seat lab theatre
  • Downtown Dinner Theatre: early summer production including dinner at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts.
  • Annual cinema production

Students are also encouraged to participate as performers, directors, or designers in off-campus productions in the Muncie area. Special opportunities are available with Muncie Civic Theatre, one of the finest community theatres in Indiana.
