Blackboard is a web based course management system that provides tools for Ball State University faculty and students.  In an integrated e-learning environment students can easy stay connected with faculty and other students in their class. Faculty can easily manage their courses and students have access to course materials, discussions, and assessment as needed.

A few of Blackboard's integrated environment which enable:

1. Methods to enhance teaching and learning, and directly affect student achievement by using powerful tools to engage students and cater to diverse learning styles.
2. Discussion Boards where instructors can create multiple forums around different topics to facilitate threaded, asynchronous discussions. Grading and rating tools enable student response, feedback and peer review.
3. Learning Communities to extend learning beyond the classroom. Students and faculty are able to congregate online and communicate more effectively.
