Technology Training Support Services provides free professional development opportunities for supported software applications that are available at Ball State University. The hands-on training workshops are held in computer labs in Bracken Library and are available for all faculty, staff and graduate assistants. Join us for one or more of over 80 regularly scheduled sessions.

The classes range from beginner to advanced and cover a wide range of topics including:
- Microsoft: Microsoft Office Suite 2007 (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word plus additional Tools found in the Suite), Front Page 2003, Access 2003, Movie Maker, Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Management
- Adobe: Acrobat Professional
- Macintosh: OS X, Entourage, iMovie, Mac iWeb for webpages
- Instructional Technology: Blackboard, Gradebook, inQsit, rGrade, Tablet PC, Smart Board
- Tools: Podcasting, Vodcasting, RSS Feeds, BSU iWeb and iLocker
Department Workshops – Customized Training
If your Department or Unit has a specific need, customized training is for you. After discussing your needs with one of the technology instructors, a workshop will be developed and presented for your group. The session can be held in your area, or in one of the computer labs in Bracken Library.
Examples of recent workshops developed include: Techniques for getting the most from PowerPoint with Power Presentations, e-Learning projects with podcasting, Tips for using rGrade assessment tool, Time management with Outlook, Tips and Tricks of iMovie, and Getting Started with Microsoft SharePoint.
Desk Call – Individualized Training
Using applications to their fullest sometimes generates issues that are difficult to resolve. One of our experienced instructors will contact you to set up an appointment for a Desk Call.
Self Paced Learning – MindLeaders
BSU has contracted with MindLeaders to provide on-line learning. These self-paced courses are available on a variety of Ball State University supported applications with more than 100 on-line software titles available any-time, any-place and any-where.
