The magazine's annual rankings of graduate programs granting doctoral degrees has Ball State's programs offered through Teachers College listed at 80th among 241 universities and colleges submitting information.
The publication listed Ball State with 274 students enrolled full time in its graduate education program in 2008 along with 81 full-time faculty.
The magazine ranked the universities based on a weighted average of measurements, including peer assessment score, superintendent assessment score, student selectivity, mean Graduate Record Exam (GRE) verbal scores, mean GRE quantitative scores, acceptance rate, faculty resources, student-faculty ratio, percent of faculty with awards, doctoral degrees granted, total research expenditures, average expenditures per faculty member, overall rank and specialty rank.
