The ESLI is designed to encourage active faculty participation in each of the seven academic colleges. Under the leadership of the Teachers College ESLI Faculty Fellow Melinda Schoenfeldt, departmental representatives will identify projects that are deemed most appropriate for enhancing faculty professional development and student learning within the college. The Faculty Fellows— with full knowledge of the multiple university resources available through the Office of Teaching and Learning Advancement (OTLA), the Office of Academic Assessment and Institutional Research (OAAIR), the Teleplex, the Information Technology Training Unit (ITTU), and University Computing Services (UCS)— will coordinate the implementation of these projects. The ESLI will enable faculty to utilize state-of-the-art instructional design technologies to enhance student learning. This decentralized faculty development model will allow colleges and departments to implement projects suited to their own needs.
