Academy Requirements
  • Complete Learning Module One by indicated due dates or be dropped from the class
  • Readings from required text and other professional resources
  • Mini-portfolio project which includes 2 lesson plans, video-taping and reflections
  • Study group project (collaborative vehicle is included on the Blackboard site)
  • Create a resource list for the beginning teacher
  • Create instruments to assist with coaching
  • Conduct and videotape a coaching conference
  • Practice scoring a beginning teacher's portfolio (will be provided)
  • Create a welcome packet for the beginning teacher
  • Participate regularly in discussion board questions online
  • Regular reflective writings
  • MAC Academy pre- and post-assessment
You are required to have the following text prior to the first day of class. You can order it through Amazon.com, other online retailers, or directly from the publisher at www.stenhouse.com. You may also obtain the book by ordering it through http://bookstore.mbsdirect.net/bsu.htm, or if you are local, it should be available in the Ball State Bookstore located in the Atrium of the Art & Journalism Building (across from Bracken Library).
