Submitting your request in TC 915:
- Check earliest date to observe on the whiteboard—you cannot observe before that date.
- Check the date and time you are available against Burris schedules located on the tables.
- Complete the Burris observation request form (one form per observation) after you determine when you will observe.
- Assume that your request is approved unless you are contacted via e-mail by the Office of Teacher Education Services (OTES). You will be contacted only if your request is denied or cancelled.
- Only two BSU students may observe a class at the same time. PLAN AHEAD!
Completing your scheduled observation:
- Pick up the pink copy of your request in OTES (your ticket to be in the school). You can pick it up the day before or the day of your observation. Failure to pick up your pink copy prior to your observation will result in receiving "no credit" for that observation.
- You must wear a lanyard with a picture ID in it at all times while you are in the school.
- Dress business casual. Inappropriately dressed students may be denied admittance.
- Report directly to the room assigned. DO NOT BE LATE!
- If you cannot keep your appointment, contact OTES, and we will contact the school.
- It is the student's responsibility to know if there are delays or school closings due to weather. Announcements are made on the radio, television, and on the Web.
- Once you have completed your observation, have the classroom teacher sign the pink copy of your request and return it to OTES. We will notify your instructor of its completion in a timely fashion.
