Take your deposit and get in line early to sign up. I was three hours early and someone was already ahead of me. By midnight, the program was pretty much filled.
Do NOT forget to take shower shoes. This one pair of flip-flops will prove to be very important to you...I promise.
London is an amazing place to live, but it is very expensive. Be sure to take extra money, aside from the money you will get from the program. The exchange rate causes most things to cost double what they would cost in America. For example: A coffee at Starbucks in America is $2 and in London is 2 pounds. 2 pounds = $4. Be causious of your spending habits.
Travel, travel, travel! The opportunities are endless and fairly cheap to travel outside of England. I visited 12 different countries while studying at the London Centre, and I would have gone to more had I had the time. Also, you might actually save money some weekends by leaving London and going to continental Europe.
Use the 'tube' in London. It's the cheapest way to get around and usually the most convienent. Don't buy a monthly pass unless you know that you will be riding it several times a day. I just prepaid my card every now and then, and that saved me so much money in the end. Avoid the Circle and District lines when possible. They are very slow.
