Participants of the London Centre take course that reflect the life and culture of Britain. Courses include theatre, art history, British literature, history of western civilization, and British life and culture. These courses are taught by British faculty.
A Ball State faculty member accompanies the students and administers the program on-site. Known as the Director, this person is also responsible for teaching two courses. In order to pursue credits in their majors and minors, students are encouraged to engage in independent studies under the supervision of Muncie-based faculty.
Students are also permitted to take one online course through Ball State's Office of Independent Learning. The online course will count as one of the courses included in the 12 credit hours.
London and its environs is the classroom of this program and students spend most of their class hours on site visits that meet the academic goals of each course. For instance, art history students meet in the art museums, and the theatre classes will be conducted in theatres. Students may register for 12-15 hours in the classes listed on our course list.
