Patient Rights
You the patient have the right to:

Fees
In order to meet many health care needs, Ball State provides a clinic conveniently located on campus. Available services include a medical clinic, women's health center, physical therapy, health education and psychological care.

Medical Records
Your medical records are strictly confidential. They contain your personal health history and assure continuity of care.

Welcome to Ball State University. We hope we won't get to know you very well at the health center, but we want to make your visits as pleasant as possible if you do need our services.

If you have a chronic condition for which you need regular medical care, we would encourage you to maintain follow-up with your usual physician, however we are happy to provide care if it is not practical for you to see your usual physician. We encourage you to take advantage of our facility for any new or acute problems which develop.

At this time, the main clinic in the health center operates on a walk-in basis without appointments. Operating in this manner causes wait times to be somewhat unpredictable. If you have an urgent problem we encourage you to come in at any time we are open. If you have a problem which is not so urgent, and your schedule allows, we would encourage you to try to come in before 11 a.m. and/or on a Wednesday or Thursday. Those times tend to be less crowded.  In addition, we would encourage you to utilize the wait time posted on the home page for the health center to judge the best time to come in.

We instituted a new patient satisfaction survey last year. We hope this will give us the feedback we need to provide better service to you.  We will also be adding more information to the web site about caring for common medical ailments. It is my hope that this may help some of you avoid unnecessary trips to visit us.

The pharmacy has begun accepting private insurance for payment of prescriptions as of Fall 2004.

Our goal is to do all we can to help you succeed at Ball State. Best of luck in school, and please come see us if you need to.
