Throwing a party? Let us help!
Party Smart BSU is a new program at Ball State that is designed to assist students in hosting parties that are fun and safe. The key element to the program is the Party Smart Kit, available for free from Health Education. The information included in the Party Smart Kit tells you in plain English what the laws are, gives you tips on how to be a responsible host or guest, and links you to resources related to safety, entertainment, and community services.
Inside the kits you'll find:
- ways to spot alcohol poisoning and what to do when someone is experiencing it
- local laws on alcohol, minor consumption, and provision of alcohol
- recipes for food and mocktails
- ideas for party games
- a t-shirt
- condoms
- information on city ordinances related to noise, trash, and parking
- and more!
Responsible partying is not a contradiction in terms. Party Smart BSU will give you ideas on how to have fun without endangering yourself or anyone else. To pick up a Party Smart Kit, simply come to Health Education, located on the second floor of the Health Center, during regular office hours.
