COST:  The total cost for a CLEP exam is $85.00.  This total is comprised of a $65.00 fee payble to CLEP and a $20.00 fee payable to Ball State University.

REGISTRATION:  You may either stop by our office in Lucina Hall, Room 366 and pick up a registration bulletin or call us at (765) 285-1290 and we'll be happy to mail one to you.  Or you can simply print out and complete the CLEP Registration Form and submit it to our office with the appropriate fees.  If you select this option, mail it to:

For your convenience, you may pay the $20.00 fee to Ball State University via credit card.  Simply print out, complete and mail the Credit Card Payment Form along with your registration materials.  The remaining balance, if being paid via credit card as well, will be processed the morning of the test.

PREPARATION:  Refer to an appropriate textbook that would be required in the course for which you are attempting to obtain credit via examination.  Or, check out the official CLEP website.

ADMINISTRATION TYPE:  Computer Based

SPECIFIC INFO FOR BSU STUDENTS:  Ball State University grants appropriate credit to currently enrolled Ball State students who earn satisfactory scores on the subject examinations of the College level Examination Program (CLEP).  You will not be awarded CLEP credit for subject examinations if you have been or are presently enrolled for credit or audit in an accredited university course that covers the subject for which CLEP credit is offered, nor may you repeat a subject examination within one year. 

Currently enrolled Ball State students who wish to take a CLEP examination must contact the Office of Admissions for consideration and procedure information before making arrangements to take the test.  Currently enrolled Ball State students who have taken a CLEP examination prior to enrolling at Ball State may have their records evaluated for CLEP credit by the Office of Admissions with final approval from the appropriate department chairperson.
